The Belgium international made as many as four saves, as the game in North London ended in a goalless draw.
Spurs defender Vertonghen was impressed with the performance of his Belgium international goalkeeper.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, hosts Tottenham had 48% of the possession, took 13 shots of which just four were on target, and earned eight corners.
Visiting Liverpool Liverpool had 52% of the possession, took 12 shots of which just three were on target, and earned six corners.
The goalless draw at White Hart Lane means that Tottenham are now seventh in the Premier League table with 14 points from nine matches.
Meanwhile, Liverpool currently find themselves 10th in the league table with 13 points from nine matches.
