Alexandre Pato could move to the Premier League in January

The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate as we anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer window.
We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including a Brazilian striker’s move to Manchester United in the January transfer window. Liverpool meanwhile have ended their pursuit of a long term target
Alexandre Pato could move to the Premier League in January:
We had reported earlier in September that Manchester United had made a deadline day offer in the summer transfer window to sign Brazilian striker Pato. The Metro have now reported that Corinthians have slapped a £18.5m price tag on the striker.

The Brazilian club’s Deputy Director Eduardo Ferreira has been quoted saying to TV Show Globo Esporte, “At the moment there are only enquiries. But if a club comes in with an offer of €25m (18.5m), we will let him go, otherwise he will return in January.”
Pato was one of the most sought after strikers across Europe earlier in his career but he has failed to live up to his talent in recent years. With Wayne Rooney struggling to hit form, Louis Van Gaal might make a move for Pato to take some pressure off from deadline day signing Anthony Martial at the club. However, it remains to be seen if United will be willing to match Corinthians’ evaluation of the 26 year old.
Liverpool end their interest in Barcelona defender:
The Mirror reports that Liverpool have ended their pursuit of Barcelona defender Martin Montoya on the orders of new manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Reds had been interested in the player when Brendan Rodgers was in charge but the Anfield side never made a move for the 24 year old who is currently on loan at Inter Milan. Montoya however isn’t getting enough game time at the Italian side and the report suggests that Barcelona could recall the player and sell him in January. But with Klopp deciding not to pursue the player any further, Montoya is expected to stay at Inter till the end of the current season.
His agent Juan De Dios Carrasco has been quoted saying: “We believe he needs more time to adapt and there are no plans to leave. Barcelona have loaned him for two seasons and that remains the same.”
