Palermo end interest in Arsenal striker

Joel Campbell

The Serie A club are no longer interested in Costa Rican Joel Campbell

The Gunners’ £7million valuation proved a major stumbling block in bringing Campbell to the Stadio Renzo Barbera.
Palermo even brought in agent Gianluca Forini to try and make some headway but he found Emirates chiefs hard work and admitted Palermo were disappointed at losing out on Campbell.
“The negotiations ran aground, Arsenal are a club difficult to deal with. There is a will from Palermo to bring Joel Campbell to Italy.

“However, we are a bit annoyed by the reaction of the Gunners and we are considering other targets” said Forini.

Real Sociedad interest

Real Sociedad manager David Moyes has been linked with the Arsenal forward and has reportedly had a conversation with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over a move.
Campbell has experience of La Liga when he was sent out on loan to Villarreal last season after playing just 10 games for the Gunners.

Arsenal track Real Madrid striker

Karim Benzema has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates as Wenger attempts to make a marquee signing before the transfer window shuts next month.
Whilst Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez has previously admitted the France international is going nowhere the Gunners are ready to test Real’s resolve with a £45million bid.
Arsenal’s previous transfer record signing was Mesut Ozil back in 2013, as the Germany international moved from Madrid in a £42.5million deal.
