Manchester United will be dealt a big blow in their chase for Gareth Bale after he revealed his intentions to play out his Real Madrid contract and will also be open to extending his stay, Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old was believed to be a target of a huge £120million bid from the Red Devils despite only recently joining the European champions in 2013.
However, it looks as though the move is unlikely to happen after Bale confirmed that he will stay in the La Liga and win more trophies with his current side.
He said: “Manchester United? I’m happy in Madrid. I love the city, the weather and the club. I’m eager to win more silverware here.
“I have a contract with Real Madrid until 2019 and could remain for more years after the end of it.”
In addition to this, Madrid president Florentino Perez also added: “We have not received any offers from Manchester United or any other club.
“We will never entertain any offers for Gareth Bale, whatever the price.”
