Romagnoli undergoes Milan medical

The Roma centre-half is poised to join the Rossoneri for an initial fee of €25 million, though that could rise to €30m depending on bonuses

AC Milan have confirmed that Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli will undergo a medical on Tuesday morning before completing his proposed move to the Giuseppe Meazza.

Both sides held talks to discuss the transfer of the centre-back on Sunday evening and Rossoneri CEO Adriano Galliani said after the meeting that the deal was "99.8 per cent" done.

The finer details of the transfer have now been ironed out and the 20-year-old centre-half is now set to seal his switch to San Siro.

"Italy U-21 and Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli is scheduled to have a medical from this morning," a statement on the Milan website reads.

"Roma and Milan were in talks over the transfer of the centre-back on Sunday evening at Forte dei Marmi."

Romagnoli is a product of the Roma youth academy and made his official first-team debut for the Giallorossi in 2012-13.

However, after failing to secure regular first-team action in the Italian capital, he spent last season on loan to Sampdoria, where he excelled under former boss Sinisa Mihajlovic, who is now in charge of Milan.

The Rossoneri will pay an initial fee of €25 million for Romagnoli, which could rise to €30m depending on performance-related bonuses.
