Chelsea will be without defensive midfield lynchpin Nemanja Matic for next weekend's Capital One Cup final.
The big Serbia international was sent-off in this afternoon's Premier League game against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, which means he will be ruled out of next Sunday's clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
That will be a major blow for Jose Mourinho's side in their efforts to win a first piece of silverware this season.
Matic is perhaps the only player in the Chelsea squad that Mourinho doesn't have a like-for-like replacement to call upon.
The former Benfica man saw red – in every sense – after a potentially leg-breaking tackle on him from the Clarets' Ashley Barnes.
Matic lost his temper, sprinted over to Barnes and shoved him to the ground.
He will receive an automatic three-match ban after the straight red card for violent conduct. That means he will miss Premier League games against West Ham and Southampton in addition to the Capital One Cup final.
